Department of Residential Life
Orientation Service Projects
All Independent Students (those not
participating in the Regiment) will take part in Service Projects designed
to provide you the opportunity to give back to a larger community . . . the
state of Maine.
Students involved in fall athletics will perform projects in the immediate area, while all others will travel off-campus for roughly two and a half day to one of four Service Site Locations. We will do our best to match each student up with their preferred location, but due to space limitations some programs accommodate more than others.
Each off-campus service site will consist of 15-20 students, accompanied by members of the faculty, staff, Orientation Leaders, and/or Resident Assistants. It is the responsibility of each individual to pack appropriately and to be prepared for a variety of weather situations . . . and as long as students utilize our suggested Packing List, there should be no problem.
